Mark’s passion for boating began at an early age, spending weekends on the water aboard his parents’ 1989 Sea Ray 250 Sundancer. That early exposure led to his first boat at age 18 — a 16’ aluminum fishing boat powered by a 4 HP outboard — often exploring the Milwaukee River where his family kept their boat.

Over the years, Mark has owned and operated a wide range of vessels, from a 1983 Bayliner 1950 bowrider to his current boat, a 1999 Bayliner Avanti 3255, which he and his wife keep at Reefpoint Marina in Racine, Wisconsin. His boating experience spans Southeast Wisconsin’s inland lakes, Lake Michigan, Green Bay, and beyond. In 2022, Mark and his wife also spent time boating along the Kona Coast of Hawaii, operating a rented 21’ center console in open Pacific waters.

Mark’s Boat Services began organically as a hands-on project, when him and his father took ownership of a neglected 1989 Sea Ray 220DA that had been abandoned for years. Restoring that vessel to seaworthy condition sparked a deeper interest in boat systems, maintenance, and repair. What started as weekend work grew into servicing boats out of his home garage in Sussex, Wisconsin. As demand increased, the business evolved into operating out of a Sussex-area shop, allowing for improved capacity, organization, and customer support.

In late 2023, he formalized that experience by enrolling in courses to obtain his U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s License, turning a lifelong passion into a professional career focused on maintenance, brokerage, transport, and owner support.
